New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- In what could bring fresh trouble to the already depleted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after its dismal showing in the Delhi legislative assembly elections where it was ousted from power after a decade, the Union Home Ministry has now sought the nod of President of India or initiating legal proceedings against Satyendra Kumar Jain, AAP leader and former minister of the Delhi government, under Section 218 of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
The MHA's request is based on evidence reportedly gathered by the Enforcement Directorate which suggests sufficient grounds for initiating legal proceedings against Jain.
