New Delhi, Dec. 8 -- The UMEED Central Portal, created for the digital management of Waqf properties across India, has officially closed for uploads as of 6 December 2025, marking the completion of its six-month operational window. The portal was launched on 6 June 2025 by the Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, in accordance with the UMEED Act, 1995, and the directions of the Supreme Court of India.

According to data shared at the close of submissions, activity on the portal surged significantly in the final phase as the deadline approached, supported by multiple review meetings, training workshops and high-level coordination, including interventions at the Secretary level to expedite compliance.
