New Delhi, July 27 -- The British Museum and The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF), over a year after a terrible explosion devastated Lebanon's capital, will collaborate to help repair historic items that were destroyed by the blast. Eight glass vases from the Roman and early Islamic periods will be restored by the museum and the fair.

The works were on display at the American University of Beirut's Archaeological Museum, about two miles from the city's previous August explosion. The glass pieces shattered into hundreds of shards during the explosion. They will now be put back together at the conservation labs of the British Museum in London.
