New Delhi, Feb. 4 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Parvesh Verma announced that Delhi's Talkatora Stadium would be renamed during the first meeting of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) after February 8, the date when the assembly election results will be declared.
Addressing reporters on the final day of campaigning, Mr. Verma stated that the stadium would be renamed "Bhagwan Maharshi Valmiki Stadium."
He emphasized that the nation cannot progress without uplifting communities categorized as Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
Additionally, Mr. Verma mentioned that numerous requests had been received from members of the Valmiki community to change the stadium's name.
