New Delhi, Nov. 8 -- Taking cognizance of the increasing dog bite incidents, the Supreme Court has directed that all schools, hospitals, bus stands, railway stations, and public sports complexes must be properly fenced to prevent the entry of stray dogs.
The observation was made by a three-judge special bench comprising Justices Vikram Nath, Sandeep Mehta and N V Anjaria
"It will be the responsibility of the concerned local self-government institutions to pick up stray dogs from such institutions/areas, and shift them to designated dog shelters after vaccination and sterilisation in accordance with the Animal Birth Control Rules.
