New Delhi, Aug. 16 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta addressed the 79th Independence Day celebrations at the historic Chhatrasal Stadium, describing the Tricolour as "a symbol of our pride, honour, and unity" and saluting the indomitable spirit of the nation. She paid tribute to India's armed forces for their sacrifices "from the freezing heights of Siachen to the scorching deserts, so that we may sleep peacefully in our homes," and also honoured the bravery of those who took part in Operation Sindoor.
