Prior COVID-19 test not mandatory for admitting pregnant women, states Delhi government
New Delhi, July 2 -- Informing the Delhi High Court on Wednesday, July 1, the Aam Aadmi Party government stated that prior COVID-19 test is not mandatory or admitting pregnant women in hospitals for in-patient interventions, including surgery and deliveries and in emergent situations. Adding further it stated that treatment would not be denied for want of test results.
"However, the pregnant woman if found positive on testing is ideally to be transferred to dedicated COVID-19 hospitals for further management," the Delhi government added in its affidavit submitted in response to a PIL by a lawyer seeking the test results of pregnant women be given priority.
