New Delhi, July 8 -- In connection with the styrene vapour leak incident that took place on May 7, in which 12 people were killed and 585 fell sick, the Visakhapatnam police have arrested the CEO, two directors and eight other officials of LG Polymers, informed Visakhapatnam police chief RK Meena.

The police, on May 7, had registered the case against LG Polymers at R. R. Venkatapuram, under various IPC Sections including 278 (making atmosphere noxious to health).

The development came on Tuesday, July 7, a day after the High-Power Committee constituted by the state government in order to probe the vapour leak, submitted its report to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that blamed multiple inadequacies on part of LG.
