New Delhi, Sept. 8 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab on September 9 to review the flood situation in the state and personally assess the local conditions. According to BJP Punjab President Sunil Jakhar, the Prime Minister is "deeply concerned" about the crisis and is closely monitoring developments.

Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was sent to Punjab to evaluate the situation on the ground. In addition, two central government teams that visited the state to assess the damage caused by the floods are set to submit their reports to the Centre soon.
