New Delhi, Sept. 13 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the International Conference on Gyan Bharatam at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, and launched the Gyan Bharatam Portal-a dedicated platform for digitisation, preservation, and public access to manuscripts.

Modi highlighted that India holds the world's largest collection of about one crore manuscripts and said the Gyan Bharatam Mission will become the proclamation of India's culture, literature, and consciousness. He noted that while crores of manuscripts were lost through history, the surviving ones reflect the devotion of ancestors to knowledge, science, and learning.
