New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz arrived in Ahmedabad on an official visit to India. He was warmly received at the airport by the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat.

, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the visit comes at a significant time as India and Germany celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations and 25 years of the India-Germany Strategic Partnership. He noted that Chancellor Merz's visit and his engagements with Prime Minister Narendra Modi would further strengthen bilateral ties.
