New Delhi, June 14 -- Rapprochement is taking place everywhere. The US is talking to Iran to revive the JCPOA - most widely known as the Iran-US-nuclear deal. Arabs in the Middle East are patching up with Israel. Iran is engaged in talks for normalising relations with Saudi Arabia. The US and China are trying to finalise the trade deal. The UAE is midwifing the back channel talks between arch enemies India and Pakistan. In this context, discussing India-Pak bonhomie may not be out of place.
Pakistan's general approach to India and Kashmir has been tactical and short-term in nature whereas a long-term policy grounded in power realities with political, economic, military and diplomatic dimensions would have been a much better strategy. The...
