New Delhi, Jan. 20 -- Nitin Nabin is formally set to become the next national president of the BJP after the party completed its organisational election process under the Sangathan Parv. The nomination exercise for the top post concluded in accordance with the BJP Constitution and laid-down procedures.

In a press statement, BJP National Election Officer Dr K. Laxman said organisational elections had been completed in 30 of the party's 36 organisational states, surpassing the mandatory requirement of 50 per cent. Following this, the process for the election of the national president was formally initiated. The notification for nominations was issued on January 16, and nominations were filed on January 19 between 2 pm and 4 pm.
