New Delhi, Aug. 22 -- The Delhi Chief Secretary, Vijay Dev, who holds additional charge of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) Chairman, took a review of the Lodhi Garden Lake, following which he formulated a plan to recycle the water of the lake.

A senior NDMC official said, "The south Delhi chapter of Rotary Club has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the NDMC for cleaning the water of the lake. The lake water will be recycled through bio-remediation with the help of natural microbes/enzymes so as to control the foul smell and the growth of harmful algae without affecting the aquatic life." Also, the bottom sludge will be converted into useful manure, as per the plan.
