New Delhi, Feb. 9 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organised a community-driven plantation drive at Palika Kunj, B.K. Dutt Colony, reinforcing the spirit of collective responsibility and environmental stewardship.
The drive was led by NDMC Vice Chairman Kuljeet Schahal under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. Residents, children, senior citizens, RWAs and NDMC staff actively participated in planting and adopting indigenous saplings such as Peepal, Neem and Ashok.
The initiative draws inspiration from the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with every Sunday dedicated to plantation activities. NDMC officials said the council will ensure year-round care and maintenance of the planted saplings.
