New Delhi, July 23 -- Delhi, a home to several species of birds is considered to have the second highest bird population in the world, after Kenya's Nairobi. Having recorded presence of nearly 500 species of birds in the National Capital in past 100 years, 30 of these could not be spotted since 1970s.

The National Capital is soon likely to have its first government-owned "Wild Bird Rescue Centre" at Rajokri which will help aiding for the treatment of the injured birds found in Delhi and then will be released.
