New Delhi, Jan. 21 -- Having been launched in 16 states across India, the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme will be put to force from June 1 across the nation, said Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday (January 20).

While Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Tripura, Gujarat and Jharkhand are some of the states where the scheme has already been launched, it is yet to be brought in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Aiming to benefit 81 crore people across the country, the scheme will allow beneficiary to use the same ration card to avail benefits across the country, said the Union Minister, adding people will receive wheat at Rs. 2 per kg and rice at Rs. 3 per kg.
