New Delhi, Jan. 15 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Pongal has emerged as a global festival, celebrated with enthusiasm by the Tamil community and admirers of Tamil culture across the world. Addressing the Pongal celebrations in the national capital, he remarked that the festival embodies gratitude towards farmers, the earth and the sun, while teaching harmony with nature, family and society. He also extended greetings on other harvest festivals such as Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Magh Bihu.
