New Delhi, July 3 -- Assam State Disaster Management Authority, on Friday, July 3, informed that due to the floods in Assam, more than 16 lakh people have been affected in 22 districts of the state. With one death reported in Matia district on Thursday, July 2, the death toll has reached to 34.

A population of 16,03,255 has been affected in 22 districts of Assam, including Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Biswanath, Darrang, Nalbari, Barpeta, among others. And currently, 12,597 people are staying in 162 relief camps, said the Assam State Disaster Management Authority.
