New Delhi, Dec. 3 -- India has strongly rejected Pakistan's allegation that New Delhi delayed overflight clearance for a Pakistani aircraft carrying humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka. Responding to media queries, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said Pakistan's claim is "ridiculous" and an attempt to spread anti-India misinformation. He clarified that the request for overflight permission was received by the Indian High Commission in Islamabad at around 1300 hrs on December 1, 2025, and given the urgency of humanitarian assistance, the Indian government approved the clearance the same day by 1730 hrs as per the proposed itinerary. India reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Sri Lanka during difficult times through all available means.
