New Delhi, Jan. 6 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has extended the deadline for its Property Tax Settlement Scheme, SUNIYO 2025-26, giving taxpayers time until January 31 to avail the benefits under the amnesty programme.

Under the scheme, complete waiver of interest and penalty is being offered on outstanding property tax dues pertaining to the period prior to 2020-21, provided taxpayers deposit the principal tax amount for the current financial year 2025-26 along with the principal dues of the previous five years (FY 2020-21 to 2024-25).

The scheme also allows settlement of dues with only a 5 per cent late fee, aiming to provide relief to property owners while encouraging timely compliance. MCD has described the process as...
