New Delhi, April 16 -- Malta recently declared a scheme which offers foreign tourists about 200 Euros ($238.10) each if they chose to stay for at least three days on the Mediterranean island this summer.

Clayton Bartolo, Malta Tourism Minister, expressed that with most COVID limitations is expected to be lifted by June 1, those booking summer holidays through local hotels in Malta would get the handout straightaway.

Bartolo further stated that those booking rooms at five-star hotels would be given 100 euros from Malta's Tourism Authority, while those booking at four-star inns will get 75 euros, and guests at three-star inns will be given 50 euros.
