New Delhi, Jan. 16 -- Giving its nod to a proposal to raise the height of the proposed statue of BR Ambedkar by 100 feet at the Indu Mills compound in Mumbai, the Maharashtra Cabinet on Wednesday, January 15, gave clearance to the revised expenditure of Rs. 1089.95 crore for the project.

While the height of the pedestal of the memorial will remain the same, the increase in height will be made in the statue from initially decided 250 feet, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
