New Delhi, Sept. 15 -- Justice M. Sundar of the Madras High Court has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, the Ministry of Law announced.According to the ministry, Justice Sundar will assume office following the retirement of the current Chief Justice, Kempaiah Somasekhar, on Sunday.

Judges of the High Courts retire at the age of 62, while Supreme Court judges retire at 65.Earlier, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the elevation of three judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts.
