New Delhi, April 20 -- During a brief firing with security forces, a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist was killed on Friday near Sopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The firing between the two took place after Army's 32 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) patrol party was passing through the Watergam area.

A senior police officer said the terrorist, hid and fired upon the patrol party while they were passing through the area and the exchange of fire started. A terrorist was killed in the firing, added he.

As per the sources, a pistol and three grenades were recovered from his possession. However, the identity of the terrorist is yet to be discovered.

A search operation in the area was on throughout the night.
