New Delhi, March 8 -- Jammu and Kashmir's Tourism department commenced a "three-day tourism festival at Doodhpathri tourist resort" in Budgam region on Saturday.

The chief objective of this celebration was to endorse Doodhpathri as an appealing vacationer resort like Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Doodhpathri is a green, open pasture and striking valley around 42 kilometers from Srinagar.

A huge pasture with flourishing green grass augments the beauty of Doodhpathri as a vacationer location. The water flowing through the pasture has a "milky appearance from distance. According to the local people as the cattle that graze here produce good quality of milk, which is the reason the spot is called "Doodhpathri" (Valley of milk).
