New Delhi, Jan. 16 -- A court in Jalandhar, while hearing the case relating to a fake video allegedly circulated in the name of Kapil Mishra, has passed detailed directions after taking note of forensic findings that established the video as doctored and digitally altered.

According to the court order, the FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint alleging circulation of a video with misleading subtitles and captions on social media platforms, including X and Meta. The prosecution submitted that the content was capable of inciting communal disharmony, disturbing public order and posing a serious threat to social cohesion in Punjab, a sensitive border state.
