New Delhi, July 13 -- After the signing of the Afghan Peace Deal, Iran has sought to rethink on relations with Afghanistan and the Taliban.

Afghanistan is an important country in Iran's foreign policy on account of three factors. First, Iran wants to access the Afghan markets for the Iranian goods. Second, Iran wants to guard against instability along its borders as the Iranian authorities fear that political instability and the resultant violence in Afghanistan will push more Afghan refugees into Iran.
