New Delhi, Dec. 4 -- On November 21, 2025, the Indian Government announced the implementation of the four Labour Codes - the Code on Wages, 2019, the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Social Security, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, rationalising the 29 existing labour laws.
As a result of the rationalisation of the labour laws, the compliance process for businesses and employees has been simplified as the number of rules has been reduced from 1,436 to 351, returns have shifted from 31 separate filings to a single electronic return, and forms have decreased from 181 to 73.
