New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- Responding to media queries on India's energy sourcing, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that India remains a significant importer of oil and gas and that the government's consistent priority is to safeguard the interests of the Indian consumer in a volatile global energy scenario.
He emphasized that India's import policies are guided entirely by this objective and aimed at ensuring stable energy prices and secured supplies. These, he said, are the twin goals of India's energy policy, which relies on broad-basing energy sourcing and diversifying as needed to meet evolving market conditions.
