New Delhi, Jan. 15 -- India is currently outfitted to begin its first phase of the vaccination drive from January 16. It has affirmed two COVID-19 vaccines for crisis use, including Bharat Biotech's Covaxin and Serum Institute manufactured Covishield. Covishield is an adaptation created by Oxford University and pharma company AstraZeneca.

India has prioritized covering three crore healthcare and frontline workers, followed by people who are more than 50 years old, people under 50 years with comorbid conditions, and pregnant and lactating women to get Covid 19 vaccines.
