New Delhi, Dec. 8 -- India has ramped up humanitarian and infrastructure assistance to Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu supporting communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah through relief supplies and vital connectivity restoration efforts.
Tamil Nadu has dispatched about 1000 tonnes of essential food items and clothing to support cyclone-affected populations. Of these, around 300 tonnes arrived in Colombo on three Indian Naval Ships on Saturday morning and were handed over by High Commissioner Santosh Jha to Sri Lankan Minister for Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, Wasantha Samarasinghe , who thanked India for its timely support.
