New Delhi, March 17 -- In a first, the Delhi Police will conduct an examination to appoint Station House Officers (SHOs) for the first time. This marks a shift from the traditional selection process, aiming to ensure transparency and merit-based appointments.
According to officials, the exam will assess candidates on various parameters, including law enforcement knowledge, leadership skills, and decision-making abilities. The initiative is part of broader reforms to enhance efficiency and professionalism within the force.
Previously, SHOs were appointed based on seniority and internal evaluations. However, introducing a structured examination process is expected to bring greater accountability and fairness to the selection.
