New Delhi, Jan. 16 -- Beginning from the third week of January, the four astronauts who have been shortlisted for India's first manned space mission, Rs. 10,000-crore Gaganyaan project, will receive training in Russia for 11 months, said Minister of State for Atomic Energy and Space, Jitendra Singh, on Wednesday, January 15.

The astronauts will be carried to space by India's heaviest launch vehicle Bahubali GSLV Mark-III. The ambitious project will be launched in 2022, the year when India will be celebrating 75th anniversary of its Independence.
