New Delhi, Feb. 9 -- Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has been appointed as the brand ambassador of Delhi Khel Mahakumbh by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots sports in the capital.

Reacting to the announcement, Dhawan said he was proud to associate with the initiative and thanked Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Sports Minister Ashish Sood for supporting a vision focused on nurturing young sporting talent. He noted that the objective of Khel Mahakumbh closely aligns with the work being carried out through DA One Sports and the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, particularly in creating access, platforms and opportunities for aspiring athletes.
