New Delhi, Dec. 26 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Wednesday operated the first-ever train of the Delhi Metro network, 'TS#01', as a special service to commemorate the anniversary of the commencement of Delhi Metro services for passengers in 2002.
The heritage train ran on the 8.3-km Shahdara-Tis Hazari section, the same stretch on which Delhi Metro's historic inaugural passenger service began more than two decades ago. The special run was organised to allow passengers to relive the memories of the Metro's first journey, which marked a turning point in Delhi's urban transport system.
