New Delhi, July 27 -- The Delhi Zoo will reopen to the public on August 1st. The zoo has reopened after being closed for more than three months due to an increase in Coronavirus cases during the second wave of the pandemic.

Due to bird flu and the first wave of Coronavirus, the zoo had been closed for more than a year. Then, on April 1, it reopened to the public, only to close again on April 15 due to an increase in COVID cases.

Zoo Director Ramesh Pandey declared that the National Zoological Park will open on August 1 as planned.
