New Delhi, July 23 -- Under the animal exchange programme, National Zoological Park in the National Capital got hold of a white tiger named 'Vijay' that has been brought from the Lucknow zoo. As part of the exchange, Delhi zoo will bid farewell to a white tigress named 'Geeta' on Monday.
A zoo official said, "The exchange is part of many that have been approved recently. Since we have a number of white tigers, the idea was to change the bloodline so that no inbreeding occurred and the offspring's survive longer." He further said, the authorities are preparing to transfer the white tigress to Lucknow zoo.
