New Delhi, Nov. 8 -- The Delhi Legislative Assembly celebrated 150 years of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay's immortal composition 'Vande Mataram' through a grand cultural programme and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
Delhi Legislative Speaker Vijender Gupta led the celebrations, describing 'Vande Mataram' as "not merely a song, but the voice of Mother India that ignited the flame of patriotism across the nation."
At the event, Gupta unveiled the 'Vande Mataram Smriti-Phalak' (memorial plaque) to honour the timeless legacy of the national song that united India's freedom struggle under one emotion, one resolve, and one voice. "This plaque stands as a symbol of devotion, unity, and patriotism," he said.
