New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced that the state government will release long-pending Goods and Services Tax (GST) refunds worth approximately Rs.1600 crore before Diwali. The refunds, pending since 2019, will finally be credited directly to traders' accounts.
Addressing traders through a public statement, Gupta criticised the previous government for failing to act on this issue, leaving the capital of thousands of traders locked for years. "It is unfortunate that such a rightful entitlement was withheld, causing hardship to our trader brothers and sisters," she said.
