New Delhi, Jan. 31 -- The Delhi government has extended the Late Payment Surcharge (LPSC) Waiver Scheme till August 15, 2026, providing major relief to electricity consumers in the national capital.

Announcing the decision, Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Verma said the extension has been made in response to public demand and with a focus on improving consumer convenience. As part of the initiative, outdated software and billing systems are being upgraded to ensure smoother and more transparent billing. Arrangements at Zonal Revenue Offices (ZROs) are also being strengthened, with an increase in the number of cashiers and staff to reduce delays and congestion.
