New Delhi, Dec. 18 -- Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa held a key meeting at the Delhi Secretariat with senior officials and representatives from Google Maps to explore the use of technology and data analytics in controlling traffic congestion and reducing air pollution in the national capital.

During the meeting, the focus was on leveraging Google Maps' extensive traffic data from the past 2-3 years, which captures daily travel patterns of millions of Delhi residents. The data will help authorities identify areas with frequent traffic jams, recurring bottlenecks, and emerging traffic hotspots that significantly contribute to vehicular emissions.
