New Delhi, Aug. 5 -- The Delhi Congress staged a protest and gherao of the Assembly under the leadership of Delhi in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin and Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav, accusing the BJP-led government of targeting slum dwellers and the poor.

The demonstration saw the participation of senior leaders including former MP Ramesh Kumar, Sandeep Dikshit, Dr. Udit Raj, former minister Haroon Yusuf, Dr. Kiran Walia, Dr. Nath, Communication Department chairperson Anil Bhardwaj, All India Mahila Congress president Alka Lamba, SC Department chairperson Rajendra Gautam, former MLA H.S. Gahlot, Bhishm Sharma, along with district and block presidents.
