New Delhi, May 23 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Talking to the media afterwards, the Delhi CM said that said her government is moving towards the goal of a clean Yamuna, as she stressed its commitment to the cause of cleaning the river.

Gupta stated that officials from the Jal Shakti Ministry and the Delhi government participated in the meeting, focusing on the segment of the river flowing through Delhi. She noted that the 22-kilometer stretch between Wazirabad and Okhla, although constituting less than 2% of the Yamuna's total length, accounts for approximately 80% of its pollution load. This area has been identified as a critical zone requiring immediate attention.
