New Delhi, Dec. 8 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta distributed electric heaters to various Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) at Dilli Haat, Pitampura. The initiative aims to reduce the use of traditional bonfires during winter, which emit smoke and significantly contribute to rising pollution levels.

Gupta said electric heaters offer a clean, safe and environmentally friendly alternative to burning wood or other materials for warmth. She described the step not merely as an item distribution drive, but as a practical and sensitive intervention for pollution control.
