New Delhi, Jan. 8 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has strongly condemned the alleged remarks made by the Leader of the Opposition, Atishi, in the Assembly against Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. She said the comments were shameful and had violated the dignity and decorum of the House.

The Chief Minister stated that the remarks had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community as well as citizens across the country, and stressed that such statements are unacceptable in a democratic forum.

She informed that Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, eminent members of society, and a delegation from the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee met her in the Assembly and raised strong objections to the statement, demanding appropriate action.
