New Delhi, Dec. 4 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta chaired an extensive review meeting today at the Delhi Secretariat with all departments concerned to assess ongoing actions related to pollution control. She issued strict instructions that any negligence in tackling pollution will not be tolerated, stating that the government is treating the issue as an emergency mission requiring immediate and effective measures.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has been directed to impose heavy penalties and issue challans on government agencies showing negligence in pollution and cleanliness responsibilities. Departments carrying out road cutting without permission or failing to refill trenches on time will face FIRs.
