New Delhi, Aug. 12 -- Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has assured that the government will soon introduce a policy to address the growing problem of stray dogs in the city and will implement the Supreme Court's directions in a phased and systematic manner.
On Monday, the Supreme Court directed the administration to remove all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR areas and place them in shelters, ensuring they are not released back onto the streets. The court was hearing a suo motu case initiated on 28 July regarding incidents of rabies caused by stray dog bites in the national capital.
