New Delhi, Oct. 23 -- Addressing a press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared comparative data on air quality during Diwali, emphasizing that pollution levels have decreased under the current government.

The Delhi CM said that according to the figures, in 2024, despite a ban on firecrackers, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) rose from 328 on Diwali day to 360 the next day - an increase of 32 points. In contrast, in 2025, when there was no firecracker ban and people celebrated Diwali with full faith and tradition, the AQI went up only from 345 to 356, marking a rise of just 11 points.
