New Delhi, Dec. 4 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured a significant win in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections, clinching 7 of the 12 seats where polling was held on November 30. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won three seats, while the Congress and the Left Front (AIFB) managed to win one seat each.
Of the 12 wards that went to polls, nine were previously held by the BJP and three by the AAP. Voter turnout stood at 38.51%, much lower than the 50.47% recorded during the 2022 MCD elections for 250 wards.
